A Small Green Space is a full-service urban landscape design/build/maintenance firm. We believe that all urban outdoor space is precious and that no space is too small to be green.
A Small Green Space's designs are brought into three dimensional life by our build-team, with Gennaro Covino at its' helm. Originally from Naples, Italy, where he grew up on a farm that included a grape orchard, Gennaro has been building outdoor spaces in Hudson County for nearly 40 years and has been building for A Small Green Space since 2011.
Emma Lam, APLD, is an award winning garden designer and the founder of A Small Green Space. Emma is both a garden designer and a horticulturist. With a background in theatre and childhood homes in both England and New England, Emma brings a dramatic flare to the lush, outdoor living spaces she creates.
Emma’s training includes KLC School of Designs’ Garden Design course and a Certificate of Horticulture from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
As Assistant Designer with A Small Green Space, Robin enjoys creating vibrant living spaces in the outdoors and bringing nature to the city. Getting her early start as a farmhand on a flower and produce farm in Pennsylvania, Robin later trained in architecture and urban design. She resides in The Heights section of Jersey City and enjoys biking, camping, and all things colorful.
Mia earned her BA in Fashion Merchandising Management from FIT and Montclair University. Mia came to us via jobs in both the floral and garden center industries. As ASGS's Office Manager Mia is an invaluable part of our team, handling all the day to day running of the office, interfacing with our clients and so much more. She also keeps our office dog, Mikey, in a plentiful supply of doggy treats!
Jenny lives in the McGinley Square section of Jersey City. She started her professional life as a photographer and continues with many artistic endeavors today. She has been running her own bookkeeping business since 2010 servicing small businesses in the Jersey City/ NYC areas. Jenny has a talent not only in managing ASGS’s books but also in keeping our crazy pup, Mikey, calm!
Our crew is a team of urban gardeners and horticulturists. We have over 15 years of experience in planting and caring for small urban gardens and container gardens throughout the Hudson County, NJ and NYC area.
